Activity 1: WHAT BELONGS TOGETHER – SEARCHING FOR THE RIGHT TREE We need: - leaves of different trees - fruits of different trees - bag Instruction: First we look at the leaves of different trees and we try to identify them. We have different fruits of trees in bag (chestnut, walnut, hazelnut, acorns …). Every child takes out one fruit and finds a suitable tree for them. In kindergarten we made a book with leaves and fruits. So children who had difficulty finding a mate were able to help themselves by looking in that book. They enjoyed the activity very much. Activity 2: FINE MOTOR ACTIVITIES WITH CORN We need: - templates with letters - tray with corn Instrucion: We place the templates with the letters and the tray with the corn on the table. Each child chooses one template, then coveres the letter with corn. We tried to recognize the letters together. The children recognized the letters in their names. Then we tried to find a tree on the same letter. Our children also enjoyed this activity very much. We have to find a corner where they could access it on a daily basis. You can also use tweezers instead of fingers. It is a little more demanding but our kids did it pretty well.

Activity necessities: - Cards with leaves - Pictures of trees - A bag where we put the leaves - Camera for taking pictures of trees - Glue Instructions for the activity/game: - You all know the game memory. On cards there are pictures of leaves and you have to find the same two cards. - After playing that game you have to go outside and look for leaves in nature. You have to find the right tree for each leaf. - When you find the tree you have to take a picture of it, put some leaves in your bag and when u return to kindergarten, you have to glu the leaf on the right tree. Evaluation: My group name in kindergarten is Butterflies. Kids are 3-4 years old and they like to learn a lot. Game Memory was little hard, so they needed my help at first. While we were playing it, we talked about colors of leaves, about size and where can we find it. I played the game with 2 kids at the same time. After a while I will make more cards and play it with more kids. I have to say that some of them have very good memory. Next day we went to look for trees. It was very fun, cause childrens were very exited and wanted to find trees very soon. They needed my help with trees, but they found leaves without to much problem. I knew where the leaves and trees were, so I lead them to the right places. They screamed every time when they saw right leaves. I took pictures of trees and kids picked up leaves and gave it to the bag. At the kindergarten we glu right leaves with right trees. Kids needed a lot of help, so they watched pictures of trees to help them found right leaves to glu. Kids learned new words for trees and they learned to describe leaves (color, size, ...). Activity prepared by: Marjetka Perc, Vrtec Najdihojca, Ljubljana, Slovenia With the arrival of autumn, Bursa left the color of green to different colors that we can call a work of art.
